The Pendle Witch Trial

Description

208km permanent cycling event starting from Scotforth, LancasterNorth West.

You must use electronic proof of passage (GPS or E-Brevet) for this event.

From Lancaster to Winter hill via quiet back roads then on to Holcombe Brook, Sharneyford, Hebden Bridge and the last control at Haworth. Turn there for the long haul back to Lancaster which crosses Pendle Witch territory - Wycoller valley, where some of the women lived; Blacko, a possible site of the Malkin Tower meeting; a crossing of Pendle Hill itself then thru the Forest of Bowland. If finishing in daylight you may also get a view of Lancaster Castle and Assizes where the Witch trials took place. An editable routesheet and GPS link will be available on entry. Validation only by GPS or E-Brevet app. Start at any point on the route and even do it in reverse. Have a great day.

PARENTAL CONSENT is required for entrants under 18 years of age. This can be declared by the parent/guardian making an online entry on behalf of the under 18 rider. Otherwise, although an entry can be made online, the parent/guardian should complete and sign the parental consent form available here.
