The White House
The Halifax Imps are a cycling club from Halifax, West Yorkshire. Their club kit is blue, gold and white in colour, and there are three rides on offer today which visit destinations with that colourway in mind.
This audax is the shortest of the three events. The ride heads west along Heights Lane towards Pecket Well, with beautiful views of the Calder Valley. After a descent in to Hebden Bridge, there is the climb of Cragg Vale; the longest continuous climb in the UK and tackled by the riders of the Tour de France. Following a stop at The White House, there is a further climb to The Turnpike and ultimately Denshaw. From there there is a further climb to the top of Buckstones before a more speedy approach in to Halifax. If you'd prefer a longer route, 'The Golden Sheep' and 'The Blue Bell' are offered as alternative rides, leaving at 8am and 9am respectively.
