Strengthening Our Community – Safeguarding Consultation
We are starting to ask members for their views on our updated Safeguarding Policy for Children and Adults at Risk.
You can see the draft policy and the consultation form here in the members’ only area of the website. The consultation will close on Sunday 16 August 2026.
Importantly, Audax UK wants to strike the right balance between a robust approach to protecting people who are vulnerable and avoiding unnecessary administrative work for organisers and volunteers.
If you have any current safeguarding or welfare concerns – please contact our Welfare officer directly.
Why now?
Our Safeguarding and welfare policies have not been reviewed for some years and there have been a number of developments recently in legislation and accepted good practice.
With the help of the NSPCC, we have set out to keep track with the latest laws such as the Children Act and with statutory guidance including "Working Together to Safeguard Children 2026".
The aim is to provide an up to date framework to organisers and volunteers for informed decision making to prevent harm and to respond to any concerns.
