Banbury Cross

Description

410km cycling event starting from Dore Old School Hall, Sheffield. Controls at Morrison's, Bolsover, Harborough Services, Banbury, Coop Store, Overseal, Willington, Ashbourne, Calver and Old School Hall, Dore., plus 6 information controls.

Ride your own choice of steed through the night to Banbury Cross, though rings on fingers, bells on toes and music wherever you go are optional (and not included in the entry fee). Rolling outward leg, hilly return.

Get the night-time leg done while you're still reasonably fresh, as you traverse the undulating terrain of east Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. Refreshment and rest opportunities at several 24-hour service stations. After paying homage to the Cross (not the original), daydream through the return via the centre of England and the Peak District hills. A good 400 choice for the owls and moonrakers amongst you.

PARENTAL CONSENT is required for entrants under 18 years of age. This can be declared by the parent/guardian making an online entry on behalf of the under 18 rider. Otherwise, although an entry can be made online, the parent/guardian should complete and sign the parental consent form available here.
