FRIDAY FERLIX

Description

205km cycling event starting from Stourport, Worcestershire. Controls at Leominster, Hay On Wye, Knighton and Stourport., plus 3 information controls.

Cyclists often head south out of Hay-on-Wye, not realising that there are magnificent roads to the north. This audax addresses that problem and takes a challenging route along roads rarely audaxed.

It is a bumpy start out of Stourport to reach Leominster via the rural Herefordshire hills. It is then a relaxed section via Weobley to reach book and cafe central, Hay-on-Wye. Now the fun begins with some magnificent Mid-Welsh countryside including the open fells north of The Begwyns. Knighton provides a much needed respite stop before heading to The Goggin and a return along the Teme Valley from Tenbury Wells. You'll love this audax if you like out-of-the-way routes. E brevet is available for those wanting to avoid the faff of posting brevet cards to the organiser after the event. GPX files are also accepted as proof of passage. This is an x-rated 'no thrills' event with no facilities provided but you will have fun with fellow riders. FAO ENTRANTS: An e-mail will be sent out on Tue 8th Aug.
