Description

Welcome to the inaugural event by Shropshire Audax and the very first running of this route. 214km of quiet Shropshire roads in two loops from Shrewsbury.
First we head north in a flat clockwise loop to Ellesmere, Market Drayton and lunch halfway at Upton Magna Village Store & CafΘ.

Next we treat you to some views (and a little elevation) as we head south in a loop skirting around the Shropshire Hills. First to Ludlow along the foot of the Wenlock Edge to your left with beautiful views to your right accross the valley. Next we start to turn back for home, keeping the Shropshire Hills to your right and soon comes Bishops Castle. Finally a nice downhill last 15k back to Shrewsbury.

Online entry and e-brevet available. GPS and routesheets supplied.

Community Hall start with free parking, toilets, light breakfast (tea and toast) at the start. Refreshments at the Arrivee including cake and a hot bowl of something nourishing.

Plenty of food options and toilets en-route, full details to be provided to all entrants with the riders notes.

This event to be run alongside a 100k with a similar first loop. both rides available to non-Audax members so why not bring a friend to experience the joys of Audax!
