Description

Another fun edition to explore the traffic free greenways Cole Green Way, Alban Way, Nickey Line, and Ayot Greenway. This time you get to go round in a clockwise direction.
A delightful outing on the greenways of Hertfordshire. Tackles 45km of the old disused railways, combined with quiet lanes, cafe start (if enough entrants), a halfway cafe, pub finish, and low minimum speed makes for a fun and different day out. Easy access by train from Cambridge or London or anywhere on East Coast mainline.

This time the outing is clockwise tackling Cole Greenway, Alban Way, Nickey Line, Ayot Greenway plus some easy gravel suitable for road bikes, hybrid bikes, recumbents, mtn bikes, gravel bikes, Elliptigos, even Bromptons etc.

Finish at the Hermit of Redcoat pub at Titmore Green. Large beer garden and oversize deck chair to have your photo taken in. Good selection of real ales and hot food.

Note that the finish is about 3km from the start. If you come by train, station is 2km from start and 5km from finish.

Note this event includes much of the route on traffic free greenways and some off road with variable gravel / compacted earth surfaces. It has been ridden on road bikes, tandems, Brompton etc. but be aware it's not a pure road route.
