Description

A pleasant excursion using Cheshire and Shropshire lanes to visit the cafe at Whixall Marina and the historic market town of Malpas on the return journey
80km / 50 miles is a great distance for a day's riding. Whilst it is not flat but there are no big hills, an ideal introductory audax or e-bike ride. There are free refreshments before and after the event. From Nantwich to Ightfield and Prees onto the cafe at Whixall Marina, choose from a full breakfast, tea and cake or push on, the choice is yours. Onward to the highlight of the route in my opinion, the pretty Shropshire villages of Bettisfield and Hamner (don't forget to look back over the disused railway bridge!). From here the small historic market town of Malpas where further refreshment opportunities are available. Back to Nantwich passing the grounds of Cholmondely Castle, free refreshments and a warm welcome you upon your return. E-Brevet available.
