Description

Ride your own choice of steed through the night to Banbury Cross, though rings on fingers, bells on toes and music wherever you go are optional (and not included in the entry fee). Rolling outward leg, hilly return.
Get the night-time leg done while you're still reasonably fresh, as you traverse the undulating terrain of east Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. Refreshment and rest opportunities at several 24-hour service stations. After paying homage to the Cross (not the original) just beyond the halfway point, daydream through the return via the reputed centre of England and the Peak District hills. A good 400 choice for the owls and moonrakers amongst you.
