Description
Pay tribute to Lord Byron as you visit his ancestral home at Newstead Abbey on this loop amid the hills and valleys of east Derbyshire and north Nottinghamshire. The four words of the events name are closely associated with Byron. They also capture the varied nature of this longstanding but newly revised 104 kilometre route but at least its not dangerous to know The occasional builtup stretches are regularly interspersed with lovely rural interludes, with a mixture of green fields and woods, and a trafficfree cycleway through the landscaped grounds of Newstead Abbey. Mainly follows minor roads, but also includes some unavoidable but short stretches of main road and three gravel sections to add to the variety.
Part of the 50:50@50 initiative female riders especially welcome.
