Description
This is the permanent version of the calendar event, you can start at any of the controls as long as you follow the route. You can only validate the ride by GPS track or using the EBrevet app. RWGPS map on the organiser website link on the right
The first section passes the 12th century ruins of Croxden Abbey, then on to Rocester, a former Roman fort and now the home of JCB. Pass the 18th century Arkwright Cotton Mill, now the JCB academy, before making your way to the control near HMP Sudbury. A short ride from the Prison and you pass the impressive Sudbury Hall, one of the countrys finest Restoration mansions. The route now takes you through some pretty Staffordshire villages, including Tutbury, Yoxall and Abbots Bromley. A possible chip shop control at Hixon before a return through Milwich and Stallington. Some short sections of A roads but mostly on quiet B roads and minor country lanes, ideal for a first time audax.
