Description
Designed as a robust winter route, sticking to mainly B roads and away from the high ground. A clockwise version of Rain, Shine or Gale Force 9.
The route join together 200km of mainly B Roads and a few sections of A Roads, in the event of cold weather the roads should be gritted with a few small exceptions see notes below. Long sections of hopefully decent maintained roads should make for quicker riding than micro navigation on country lanes so less time out in the potentially cold weather. There are plenty of refueling options all around the route, from shops to cafes etc.
The route starts finishes at Crewe train station, with plenty of local parking options. The EBrevet allows you to start at any point on the route.
The route can be seen here https:ridewithgps.comroutes53221561
NOTE 1: Most of the route is on the relevant councils gritting schedule which does not automatically guarantee it will be gritted. There is a cycle crossing of the A41 dual carriageway outside of Chester https:w3w.comoons.plug.abode, this crossing will not be gritted. There is also a 3km section near West Felton which is on lanes that arent gritted between https:w3w.codistorts.martini.pillows and https:w3w.cohelps.miracles.fuse , if ice is present then you can either a proceed with caution b dismount and walk c join the busier A5 to get around this section, please take the time to familiarise yourself with this section by studying the route.
