Description

118km cycling event starting from Alnwick. Controls at Otterburn and Alnwick., plus 2 information controls.

A scenic route starting and finishing in Alnwick with some undulating sections. Most of the climbing is gradual but there are two short steep sections.

This is currently planned as a roadside start, arrangements for the finish are TBC but hopefully a local pub. Several options for food (Café/Shop/Pub) at the Otterburn Control at 65km. Other than Otterburn there are virtually no other facilities on the route outside of Alnwick that also means virtually no traffic and for large sections of the route a surprisingly good road surface. The route also crosses the rarely open Otterburn Military Ranges.
This is an X-Rated event and riders are expected to be self sufficient on the ride. Please note entries will be limited and may close before the closing date. Facebook Page 'Tyneside Vagabonds Audax Events'.
