Quite a tough day out overall due to the hilly middle section. The highlights of this route are Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant to Glyn Ceiriog down the Ceiriog Valley, views of Llangollen and surrounding area as you descend into Llangollen, the iconic Llangollen Horseshoe Pass, and the descent of Nant y Garth Pass, the bits connecting these parts together are all really quite nice as well.
A flattish start to the ride out through pleasant Cheshire and Shropshire lanes before crossing the border into Wales. From Llanfyllin the real climbing starts with five decent sized lumps to get over. The route takes you to Llanarmon DC, Glyn Ceriog, Llangollen, Nant y Garth Pass, Ruthin, and Llanarmon-yn-Ial before heading to Holt and back to Nantwich.
