Description

302km cycling event starting from Troutbeck Bridge, Cumbria. Controls at Alston, Bellingham, Langholm, A74(M) Services (N Of Gretna Green) and Lakes School.

Generally quiet roads and sensible gradients make this an accessible 300. Just a couple of tough spots - the ascent out of Newcastleton and the final kicker on the Kirkstone return.

HQ is a secondary school, with indoor bike parking, BYO sleeping bag accommodation in a gym, modern changing rooms/showers and extensive parking. Except Langholm, the controls have café or shop options to suit your preference. The majority of riders finish after 11:00pm so expect to do some night riding. If the weather is fine, a BBQ is provided for the post-event food, otherwise an indoor spread in the pavilion. Vegetarians catered for.
