Explore the Chew Lakes & the Mendip Hills with no less than 3 climbs up, including the infamous climb out of Draycott with its 20% segment and descend the world-famous Cheddar Gorge.
You will pass along the Avon Valley Railway on the B2B cycle path before climbing up and riding through one of Bath's best-kept secrets, considered one of the Severn Cycle Wonders of the World. The iconic Two Tunnels, at 1.03 miles in length, is the longest cycling tunnel in the UK.
As you continue along the Greenway Cycle Path, you will have fine views of the Cotswold Countryside and the Gothic-style Midford Castle.
Next, you will ride past the beautiful Chew Valley Lake before climbing to the top of the Mendips on the Old Bristol Road. A fast descent takes you to the historic town of Wells and its famous cathedral.
A flat section over the Somerset levels sets you up for your halfway refreshment stop at the cycle-friendly Sweets Cafe.
Next, ride through Wookey Hole before climbing to the top of the Mendips for the 2nd time.
You will then descend through the stunning Cheddar Gorge with its dramatic vertical limestone cliffs as your backdrop before taking on the challenge of Draycott Hill at its 20% segment.
Descend through Burrington Combe Gorge before taking on the rolling section back to Warmley Waiting Rooms Cafe for free refreshments. (Post 5 pm finishers only).
