Description
one ride, two cafes, one river, ten bridges
Starting near the river at Maidenhead there are a few ups and downs through Marlow, Hambledon and Sonning Common on the edge of the Chilterns before the half way cafe stop at Dinton Pastures. The second half via Ascot and Windsor is much flatter. As well as crossing the Thames 10 times, you will also pass Cliveden Estate, the sporting venues of the Henley Royal Regatta, Royal Ascot, Guards Polo Club in Windsor Great Park and Eton Dorney Olympic Rowing Lake and the culinary village of Bray before returning to Maidenhead.
We particularly welcome female entrants with this ride being part of the 50:50 @ 50 initiative to promote womens involvement in Audax on the 50th Anniversary of Audax UK. Last year a third of the entrants to this ride were female.
Maidenhead station is served by Great Western and the Elizabeth Line and is under 2 miles from the start. Taplow station is nearer, but has a more limited service.
