Description
An epic 400km overnight event from Duddon, near Tarporley. Out through North Wales, around the Great Orme to the end of the Llyn Peninsula and a hilly return back via Ruthin. A 400km starting at 21:00 so you will definitely need your lights
A straight forward start sees you ride through Chester, Mold, Abergele before reaching Llandudno. From here you ride around the Great Orme, past Conway Castle and out to a 24hr petrol station outside of Llanberis. From here you get to ride all the way down the Ll375n Peninsula. Part of its beauty is due to it being very sparsely populated this means you need to make sure you have enough supplies to get you to Pwllheli or to keep you going until the few local services get up and running. Plenty of feeding options as you pass through Pwllheli, Criccieth and Porthmadog, then you again head out into the remote Welsh countryside. As well as being remote this section is particularly arduous as you ride, mainly uphill, through Ffestiniog, Ysbwty Ifan and onto Ruthin with very few signs of human habitation, let alone shops or cafes in between. Once suitable refueled in Ruthin there is the small matter of another 20km of uphill before a straightforward 50km finish
