Description
A scenic ride that crisscrosses Dartmoor, with big views and big hills. Soup control at Ashburton, café control at Princetown plus a cake checkpoint.
Test yourself on one of the classic gold Grimpeur rides. Starting in Bovey Tracey, the Gateway to Dartmoor, and climbing onto the high moor via pretty villages, narrow lanes, steep hills and a soup stop. The Devil finishes back in Bovey Tracey after tackling the infamous Widecombe Hill.
The soup and roll are included, but bring some change or a card for the controls at Princetown, the finish and the cake checkpoint donations in aid of Devon Air Ambulance. Cycling Weekly included the Dartmoor Devil in its list of top ten audaxes to challenge yourself with. Although a tough ride, the atmosphere is relaxed and Halloween related fancydress is welcome. There are two start options: the Dartmoor Devils @8 and @9. Choose your preferred event and if it is full you will be moved to the other start.
Please make sure that you choose the correct start time the @8 and @9 are separate events.
