Description
Part of the Balham Wednesday Wheelers midweek series of PBP qualifiers.
A tour of south east England. From Balham, the route heads south east out of London, up and over the North Downs before heading east to Deal. From here, you follow the south coast through Dover, Rye, Eastbourne and on to Brighton then Chichester. There are plenty of cheap hotels along this stretch for some rest. After skirting Portsmouth and Southampton, the route heads up to Salisbury and onward to Marlborough. The route back then heads through Basingstoke and Farnham before heading back into London to drop your brevet card off at Arrivee.
This is a bare bones X-rated 600km event with all commercial controls and postal finish. It is an unsupported event suitable for experienced randonneurs only, and is aimed to provide a PBP qualifier option for those unable to make weekend events.
