Description
A new midweek 200k for 2027. Suitable for weekend workers and anybody who cant wait for the next weekend for their next Audax fix. A later start time is intended to facilitate travel to and from the event by train.
Inspired by years of stopping at SPAR shops for refuelling on long rides, the route crosses the Cheshire Plain before climbing into Wales and a control at the SPAR in Rhosllanerchrucog. Most of the significant ascent is in the next 25km including Bwlchgwyn and Gyrn Pass. We then descend through stunning valleys to Abergele services for another SPAR or a McDonalds if you prefer just past the halfway point. Through Dyserth and up to an Info control with optional refuelling at the SPAR at Trelawnyd garage precedes a scenic descent to Queensferry for the final SPAR control. We return across Cheshire, usually with a tailwind to rush us back to Crewe and finish a relaxing day at the SPAR.
