Description

A Macclesfield canal themed ride without using tow paths.  
Starting from Poynton near Costa Coffee. There are plenty of cafes, shops and pub in Poynton.
The early part of the ride heads towards Bollington Aqueduct a unique grade 2 listed structure. It has a stone rather than an earth core and is unique on British canals. The rock core enables an impressive steep sided profile of 1:1.
At Gurnet the ride passes where canal pioneer James Brindley serverd his apprenticeship.
There is a cafe on the route at Sutton. Lots of cafes and shops close to the route in Bollington.
The Marton control at 31km has a choice two cafes.
There is pay as you go parking behind Waitrose, use the long stay spots marked with a P. Payment with Ringo or at the machine. On street parking nearby. There are several free carparks in Bollington. The Adlington road car park also has a free toilet.
Poynton train station is less than 2km from the start. Macclesfield station is just off the route.
