Event website https://grandtourofscotland.com/ including FAQs
All entrants must be 18 years of age or over. Entries will not be accepted from riders under 18 years.

The event is a 2000km supported route around Scotland with a time limit of just over 200 hours. The event starts in Dumfries on Monday 31 July 2028 between 5pm and 9pm. The minimum speed for the event is 10km/h.
It is an Audax, not a race.
The event controls will have limited opening times. The event is not designed for faster riders intending to ride this as quickly as they can, if you do and get ahead of the control opening times then youll be on your own with no event provision. Control opening times will be published on the website. The control opening times have been planned so that they can be used by the majority of riders.
It is planned that event trackers will be mandatory for all riders for safety and event management.
There will be a drop bag system available to riders.
The majority of the route will be on tarmac roads or good cycle paths. There is a gravel section about 15km long north of Fort William, this is a rideable with care on a road bike. There is a nighttime alternative along the the A82, not recommended during the day.The route isnt flat there are definitely some hills.
A lot of the route is in isolated remote areas often with very limited if any facilities other than the event controls particularly outside of normal daytime hours.
Anyone considering entering should be experienced in riding in remote areas and being self sufficient if needed.
Weather - there will definitely be weather - the route passes through high and exposed areas particularly in the North and West of Scotland. You could experience all four seasons during the event.
Entries will open in Autumn 2027 - date to be confirmed.
If the event is full a waiting list system will operate. Ill tell you what information I need for you to be on the waiting list - you wont be on the waiting list until youve done this. Waiting list places accepted in order received.
Entry fee is £750. I appreciate that its not a cheap event and whether its good value or not is up to you to decide. In the interests of being fair we will offer a conditional goodwill partial refund, if and only if the following conditions apply. The event is full and we can fill your place from a waiting list at the full entry fee. A partial refund of £600 may be made up to 30/4/28, after this a partial refund of £375 may be made up to 30/6/28 if the previous conditions apply. Note Audax UK terms and conditions still apply. There will be no refunds after 30/6/28 in any circumstances.
If that hasnt put you off the have a look at the extra information on the route sheet link and the website. See also Facebook group for the event https://www.facebook.com/groups/2165450697602187
