Description
A perfect December opportunity to keep your Randonneur Round the Year RRtY streak alive. This is a straightforward 200km route designed for winter riding conditions.
The Route: Starting from Chepstow, youll cross the Severn Bridge and follow the river north to Upton-on-Severn via a breakfast stop at the Black Shed near Slimbridge. The return leg heads south through Newent and Monmouth to Usk. The Sting in the Tail: The route is mostly manageable, but saves its one major challenge for the end: the iconic Llangwm climb. Expect a 2-mile power climb with a steady gradient peaking at 6%. You will likely tackle this in the dark, but the reward is a lovely long descent straight into the Arrivée at Chepstow.
