Description
NOTE: Car Park near windmill will probably be full by 8am so please park considerately in surrounding roads. The nearest public car park is Ingatstone Station - £6.70 all day Shenfield station car park is larger but £9.40 all day - about 15 min cycle. Lower road about a mile south of the HQ looks suitable but please do not block driveways. Arrival by train is advised if possible.
Starting from Mountnessing HQ in Mid-Essex easily reachable via Elizabeth Line or Greater Anglia train to Shenfield the route goes via mostly quiet lanes and picturesque villages, including the Blue Egg Cafe, popular with cyclists, back to the HQ. GPX files and route sheets are on the links below.
Late starts are permitted at 09:30 and 10:00 and the minimum speed has been relaxed to 10kph.
