Description

Paris and Moscow in West Yorkshire, that is, both passed on this loop through the green belt surrounding the Huddersfield/Halifax/Bradford/Leeds industrial belt. Possible café stops in the first half then excellent refreshments at the end.
Hilly outward leg heads through Summer Wine country and the Pennines eastern slopes to the UNESCO heritage village of Saltaire. The route then turns eastwards, through the original Emmerdale village of Esholt and eventually reaching flatter country south of York. The southward leg takes in some pretty villages like Hooton Pagnell and Barnburgh, before the South Yorkshire ridges and the western side of the Upper Don Valley provide a sting in the tail.
All proceeds will be donated to Woodhead Mountain Rescue.
