Description
The classic night 300, same amended route as 2026 with the village hall start/finish. Hopefully a nice summer evening and warmer than some of the previous years for anyone who wants a bit of night riding practice or kit test for PBP or just fancies an overnight adventure through Northumberland and the Borders.
For those who like a little night ride, a 10.30pm start, expect to ride the first half of the event in the dark. Start and finish at Village Hall in Ponteland. You will need to be prepared to ride long sections at night with limited facilities. This is an event intended for those who are capable of riding extended distances at night and being self sufficient or want to get some night riding experience with others around them. Despite using some main roads there is usually virtually no traffic along most of the route.
Currently facilities are a 24 hour petrol Station with shop or a McDonalds in Berwick upon Tweed.
Newsagents in Hawick from about 5.00am or usually earlier, Petrol station from 6am, shops from 7am
By the time most riders to Newcastleton from 7am the shop will be open or The Olive Tree bakery/cafe will be open hopefully opening early for the event. The route goes through Bellingham on the way back from Newcastleton so there should be shops or cafes open by the time most people get there.
