Description
A scenic ride in the Towy and Teifi valleys, interspersed with wild spectacular deserted Cambrian mountains and lots of rolling climbing on quiet roads. A nice introduction to Welsh 200s.
A classic Welsh audax taking advantage of the fine weather that often persists into autumn in the far West. Held a week before Ironman Wales in 2026, it also offers the ideal shakedown for triathletes tired of pounding the trafficky IMW route. The route takes in quiet well-surfaced roads to Carmarthen before heading up the Towy Valley to Llandovery including the wonderful Towy Valley cycle track. From here the road goes cuts through and over the Cambrian mountain chain back to the Teifi Valley. The final climbing takes you back over the Preseli Mountains then south back to the start. This 200 should see in autumn in style. Numerous accommodation options are available for those wishing to stay longer in Welsh cycling nirvana. There are decent rail connections, as well as Irish ferry ports in Fishguard and Pembroke Dock, giving easy access from the East or West.
Please note - this is an x-rated event. Riders are encouraged to use e-brevet to help streamline post-ride administration.
