Description
This is the course of the original Fred Whitton ride, which ideally would be started in Coniston, the atm is in the Spar shop, which opens at 7.00 am, or use car park ticket. Although it could be started in Keswick or Gosforth. Info controls at Troutbeck Bridge, Troutbeck /A66, Honister Summit, and Cauda Brow. It is not practical to start at Whinlatter or Boot as the opening times of the commercial operations are limited. A must do Lake District classic ride, and the route can be done in either direction. Use ride with GPS for cue sheet and GPS download. This permanent event can be validated by GPS. This means that you would submit a ridden tracklog in place of paper proofs of passage.'
