50 years of Audax UK

Celebrate 50 Years of AUK by riding further in 2026

Audax UK turns 50 in 2026 and cyclists are being invited to mark the occasion is style.

Three great events have been designated as Nationals – rides with a higher level of TLC designed to bring the audaxing community together on some memorable routes.
Festivities kick off with the Oasts and Coasts 300km on 25 April. It’s a brilliant ramble around Kent and the start point makes its very accessible to riders from London and farther afield. Enter here.
On 6 June, the Scottish Borders are hosting the Moffat Toffee 200km. Taking in the beautiful Yarrow Valley to Moffat and the scenic moorland roads to Wanlockhead, it’s a stunning ride. Find out more and sign up here.
And on 13 June, the National 400 heads out from Driffield. The well supported route makes it the perfect introduction to a 400km ride and a great way to experience the Pennines in good company. Details here.

Try going further in 2026

In 2026 AUK is inviting you to go a little farther, explore some new routes and meet some new friends as part of the Fifty for 50 challenge (or its smaller sibling the Demi).

Riders who gain 50 (or 25) points over the course the season will be eligible for a special medal to go alongside their improved knowledge of the byways and tea stops of the UK! Points are earned for every 100km ridden on Audax UK events – a 100km event will earn a single point and a 400km ride is worth four.

Balancing up entries

Audax UK is also aiming to boost the numbers of women taking part in rides. AUK has signed up to a target of even gender balances on start lines and a group of women members have created a dedicated Facebook group to encourage more female riders to tackle longer distances.
The Group offers advice and encouragement to riders with questions about taking part. More info on this page

More celebrations are being planned for Audax UK’s 50th birthday – although Audaxers have never needed an excuse for more cake!
