Description

The culmination of the Audax events from Shenstone Village Hall is a classic 200km with enough climbing in the Peak District to challenge any rider.

The initial rolling roads open up of views of the Peak District hills to come. A variety of climbs and descents leads through stunning scenery to the northernmost point of Castleton.

Heading south, the ups and downs become longer and steadier until Old Hill in Ashbourne. There is no shame in walking up that one after the amount of climbing already in the legs.
Flatter scenic lanes across Needwood Forest as you head back into the River Trent valley. An A-road deliveries you back to Lichfield where you retrace route back to village hall.

Please enter beforehand to make it easier for the organiser, but entries on the day are possible. Free DIY toast from 7:30 am. Combination of cafe, info and free controls. Free food & drink at finish.

Any surplus supports Cycling UK North Birmingham club. Shenstone is served by trains from Birmingham New Street and Lichfield Trent Valley station is also only a short train or ride away for other main line routes.
