Description

An early season opportunity to ride around the North Pennines (The Roof of England). Roadside Start and Village Hall finish.
The route heads out across the Tyne Valley into the heart of the North Pennines to the Chatterbox Cafe in St Johns Chapel. From there the route heads up Weardale and over Kilhope Cross before heading back to cross the Tyne at Haydon Bridge.
There are three main Climbs from Blanchland to Stanhope, Kilhope Cross and Alston Moor, the last 40km are a lot more gentle and it's mainly downhill to the finish in Ponteland at the end.
Plenty of opportunities for cafe/shop stops in the first 120km of the route.
